Our first tournament in the lovely town of Bundoran was a great success.
It was a mid-week tournament, for a change, taking place on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th July. We had 33 players, from both Ireland and further afield, playing 15 games over the two days.
The winners were as follows:
1st place was Feargal Weatherhead, with 12 wins and a spread of +1,225. 2nd place was Oisin Dilger, also with 12 wins, and a spread of +589. 3rd place was Kay McColgan with 11 wins and a spread of +499.
There were two ratings prizes for B and C groups – Minsue Kim came 1st prize in the B ratings and Marie Ryan came second, while the C ratings prize was won by Bronagh Kenny with Kieran Brosnan getting 2nd prize (these were based on the tournament Rating Change report, where Kieran Brosnan finished 20 points above his starting rating, as opposed to other C players who finished on more games but with a lower rating change)
